"I don't want to wait for our lives to be over" best told by Paula Cole is a quote I think about quite often. Life gets so busy and complicated, we sometimes forget the reason we are living our lives. Menial tasks, day in and day out, without purpose, and at the end of the day, we look back, and realize that so much time has passed, and we either have no recollection of what we've done or we believe that we haven't done anything. And yet, the word busy gets passed around like hot cakes!
Why does that happen? How does time fly and we only notice at major events like new years, birthdays, or the beginning of a new school year that we have missed out on so much, and yet we were physically present to these events.
I guess that's the difference. We were present to this birthday, to this work event, to this meal, but we lost awareness of our presence. We forgot to slow down to the present moment, stressing about a past encounter, or anxious about a future presentation. While quitting work, relationships and responsibilities is not possible, there are ways to incorporate and intensity those present moments.
I'll be discovering how to slow time down, and create more awareness and purpose everyday. A project in hopes of finding more appreciation for the life we live, creating lasting habits, and living a full life.
12 months, 12 goals repeated everyday. Here we go!!
